Friday, 7/30/21 – Video Summary, Team 60s Black Hills days

Well the weatherman was right last night. There were thunder showers last Nate and rained until early morning. I woke up once about 1:30 am to thunder and saw it was raining outside. When I woke up in the morning it was wet, but not raining and the streets were already starting to dry. but also as the weatherman stated, smoky and poor air quality do to the winds pushing smoke from Canadian fires. Amazing how bad it was here as Rapid City is far from the border.

After having out morning breakfast Rick and I payed out a game plan for when to return home, based on weather observations. We decided to stay through Saturday night in Rapid City and start final push towards SoCal. But again, out plans can change.

So today was a ride through some of the black hill via the old towns of Keystone, Mt Rushmore and the faces, Deadwood, Sturgis and then back to Rapid City.

The roads were great as there were not so many bikers riding them. Instead of bikes lining the small towns, it was choke full of cars and family, with a handful of bikers around. That will change in each of the towns as the days progress to the kickoff of the rally next weekend. The biz is starting to happen around the area.

The “music” gave me a headache, but the report was great.

  2. JeanR says:

Nice videos and another day of armchair touring thanks to you two.
We’ve got that smoke here in MN, 170ppm, was up to 214… for several days and another 3 more at least.
    Enjoy another FUN day!

Only 119mph, thought the speed limit was 125 in Sturgis?? The amount of smoke is crazy that far south of the border! What about Crazy Horse, no tours?

  4. Gary Tanji says:

Doing a great job of letting us old folks what your are doing!

Never fear, I’ve continued to stalk you, but haven’t been commenting as I’ve been so busy floating in the pool – relaxing after all the company. Stalking and reading on my phone, but I just can’t do comments from there. As I mentioned before, so glad you & Rick hooked back up for the trek home. Doesn’t look like he’s cramping your style in Sturgis, either😄 Enjoy your time there & safe home.
