About this Trip

Years ago, ages really, on August 18, 1997 and Sept 2, 1997, Jim Valentine (1995 HD FLT) and Dean Tanji (1998 HD FLHTCI Electra Glide Classic, 687 OD miles) completed the Southern California Motorcycle Association (SCMA) USA Four Corners Tour in 15 days.

The route started in San Ysidro CA, Blane WA, Madawaska ME, and finished in Key West FL. Our route totaled 7,421 miles with 11.5 riding days. We spent 3.5 days visiting and touring. This averages 647 miles per day!

What is the SCMA USA Four Corners Tour you say?

“You have 21 days (or less) to ride your motorcycle (or trike) to these Four Corner cities of the United States; San Ysidro, CA; Blaine, WA; Madawaska, ME; and Key West, FL using any route and sequence you desire.  You do not have to return to the first corner to finish the event. ”

This time, four “Wild Hogs”, well, old hogs, will be riding the tour with an added twist.

This was all Dean’s and Gary’s ride idea that was to happen a couple of years ago, and Rick and I decided to intrude.

Dean Tanji, Gary Tanji, Rick Lane and I (JimmyV) will start the ride from Blain, WA and head south to San Ysidro, CA to head east Key West, FL and on to finish north in Madawaska ME.  After that, the plan is to go to Chicago and ride old route 66 back home.
