Repositioning Day – a day on the road to Chicago
We rode 500 miles today from Scranton PA, through OH, to Dundee MI.
Riding West through western Pennsylvania, and all of Ohio was through lush green forest areas. The morning fog at the mountain passes was wet with heavy dew. We crossed 100+ of these low but wet passes.
The traffic is very heavy with freight 18-wheelers. Some tractors are pulling triple trailers! It seems the 18-wheelers speed limit is the same as cars! And tractor/trailers are allowed in the fast lane!
Dinner was at the Bricktown & Coney Island Diner, Dundee MI.
Tomorrow we’ll have breakfast at JannieVs!
Guys
What an insane trip
400+ miles/day is big no matter what the conditions
But to do that day after day — I cannot imagine.
No physical excercise, sitting on the bikes all day, eating basically junk food
I must say you look amazingly good and happy
Shows the emotional benefits of getting out of the house.
I admire you guys! And no incidents!
As promised, I was stalking and tracking, so when I saw you heading North on US23, I knew you were going to stop for a visit. Can’t wait to hear first hand all the adventures I’ve been following. See you in the morning! 🥓🥐🍳😎
Damn you were only 60 miles from free lodging, Akzl lives in Waterford north of you. Since he moved out there four years ago I have left a bike out there and try to get a ride in every visit. There is some amazing riding north towards the thumb and also the U.P. Not sure where your next destination is but Traverse City and the entire 31 along the coast of Lake Michigan is beautiful. If you get up that far the Lake Express that runs from Muskegon to Milwaukee is fun to throw the bikes on and take a two hour cruise across Lake Michigan. Keep up the post, it’s great to see the progress!
Yeah, I offered free lodging here but they were already checked into Dundee, or should I say Cabellaville😁 I think you just described the ride you & Jim had last year…or part of it anyway. And we have you to thank for his bike in our garage which means he’s more likely to come for a visit. I may get to meet your son while Jim is here, too!
