Day 11 Video Summary – Homestead FL to Duluth GA

Day 11 Video Summary Homestead FL to Duluth GA

We are trying to keep ahead of Elsa, so we decide to do a big day ride north and try to get as far north towards Georgia with weather permitting.

We want to do the Tail of the Dragon in TN and I would like to visit a high school friend in The Atlanta area. So the two teams split, with 60s team trying to get as close to Georgia as possible to have a longer chance for a visit.

Team 70s leaves at 3:45 am, team 60s at around 5:30 am. The morning provide both teams with a great lighting show east, but it was dry when we started which was great.

Somehow, team 60s passes team 70s during the morning probably during gas stops. Team 60s pushes to Duluth GA while team 70s make it to Perry GA. Both teams will hook up sometime on the next day, either on the trail on at the agreed town to stop for the night, which is Asheville

Doing these longer days has made our postings late…

And don’t forget you have a place to hang in Franklin, TN at Moonshine Hill! Maybe a little out of your ways.

next year RB. Wanted to try this year but we are trying to keep out of the storms path for now. But I will be back! Great riding roads all throughout GA/TN/NC/VA, so I’ll come visit next year!

So fun catching up with all the videos. You know I’ve been tracking you on both my stalker app and here, so it’s nice to have some pics, videos & explanations. LOVE LOVE LOVE the ride through the Smokies.

If by any chance you decide to ride through Blowing Rock/Boone, NC, you would probably take hwy 321 north to BR/Boone and that would take you by Granite Falls, NC. Jump off of 321 and ride through Granite Falls. Not a big town but it was a great place growing up. NB, maybe you should hold up for a few days and ride those roads, I’m sure you would enjoy. You could even try riding the Globe road out of Blowing Rock, that would be a good challenge since it is dirt or what I have been told, you wouldn’t forget it!!!
